ICON 2026
This past week, Eastern Canada had the pleasure of sending three representatives to ICON (International Convention) in Dallas, Texas. Immediate Past District Governor Hayel Abu-Hamdan, Immediate Past Lieutenant Governor of Division 3 Adrielly Neves, and District Governor Dabi Kennedy spent July 1 to 5 meeting incredible Key Clubbers from across the world, participating in engaging workshops, and electing our new International Board. Throughout these experiences, it was abundantly clear that service and caring are bigger in Texas!
Eastern Canada is exceedingly proud to announce that Immediate Past Lieutenant Governor of Division 3 Adrielly Neves ran as a candidate for International Trustee and represented Eastern Canada to the highest degree, despite not being elected.
Awards
Immediate Past Governor Hayel Abu-Hamdan was a recipient of an ICON scholarship, which covered a portion of the costs related to attending convention. If you are interested in attending next year, make sure to stay tuned for scholarship applications. Additionally, Immediate Past Governor Hayel was awarded Distinguished District Governor and Immediate Past Lieutenant Governor Ana Cebic of the former Division 4 was awarded Robert F. Lucas Outstanding Lieutenant Governor. Congratulations everyone!
Global Leadership Certificate
District Governor Dabi Kennedy also had the opportunity to participate in the Global Leadership Certificate Masterclass, where she connected with other GLC recipients from across the world to grow in leadership and service. All Key Clubbers are eligible to apply for this masterclass, provided they have completed 30 or more GLC courses and are attending ICON. Completion of the GLC Masterclass comes with a certificate, two enamel pins, and a $200 USD stipend. If you are interested, you can access GLC courses through Kiwanis Engage.
