LG's Address

Hey there ECD! My name is Ashiq-Arib Gazi and I am your Lieutenant Governor for Division 8/9/10. I joined Key Club in grade 10 and could not believe the level of altruism that the club embodies. Before Key Club, my biggest project was a school-wide awareness and fundraiser campaign called Fight4TheFlow. Period. From there I helped with Diversity/Identity events, fundraisers, and awareness campaigns, and began my studies in Arabic, Japanese, French, and Bengali to further my global citizenship. Besides the IDEA club, I was a part of my school’s Science Club, Math Club, International Certificate Program, Specialist High Skills Major Program, and many sports teams. I have made it a lifelong goal to learn, grow, and create and I know the LG position will do just that. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me with any ideas, questions, or concerns, and don’t forget to have a great day and keep being awesome!

The Acora Bed Race for Kiwanis

The Acora Bed Race for Kiwanis organized by the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa is one of the highlights of Winterlude. Teams of 5 people which includes 4 runners and one rider compete with modified and decorated beds in downtown Ottawa. This event is a lot of fun for participants, and the funds raised goes to support the Kiwanis Aktion Club and other Kiwanis Club of Ottawa’s projects and the Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation. In 2020 the Bed Race was able to raise over $41,000. Participants can win for best decorations, best Team Spirit, fastest bed and so much more.

Fall Rally

Fall Rally is an annual event that division 8/9/10 hosts alongside another division. In previous years the event was hosted with division 24 from the New York Districts but in 2021 the event will be hosted with division 4, which consists of the Niagara region. Fall Rally is a day filled with super informative workshops, amazing guest speakers, fun games and so much more. Most importantly Fall Rally gives Key Clubbers the chance to meet new people and participate in service projects together. Any registered member can attend Fall Rally and get the chance to learn something valuable, form new connections all while having lots of fun!
