Division 4

Thundering Waters

LG's Address

Hi everyone! My name is Arielle Longo and I am honoured to serve as Lieutenant Governor of Division 4 for the 2022-2023 term! I’m currently a grade 10 student at A.N. Myer Secondary School in Niagara Falls. I love art, piano, cinema, and poetry, and during my free time, I run a fun little digital bilingual art magazine called Ambré Magazine, to help create a community of young Canadian creatives! A fun fact about me is that I speak French, Japanese, and I am currently trying (and struggling) to learn Italian. My goals for this term are to charter more clubs in my division, and create a divisional podcast! I am very much looking forward to all the great times we will have this upcoming service year 🙂

History

Division Four of the Eastern Canada District of Key Club may be small geographically, but it’s local Key Clubbers and their passion for supporting their communities amplifies its size. Being officially formed in 2007, Division Four began with chartering its first Divisional Club at Saint Paul Highschool branching off to other schools in the communities of Niagara Falls and Oakville. We currently have 3 Divisional Clubs at A.N. Myer Secondary School in Niagara Falls, White Oaks Secondary School in Oakville and Saint Paul Highschool in Niagara with over 60 members. Together, we create a Division that is passionate about Service, and uses size to its advantage in creating long lasting relationships, strong friendships and very fun filled meetings. Good relationships are mutual with everyone of our executives, including our Kiwanis advisors. Currently, there are 2 sponsoring Kiwanis Clubs in our Division, The Stamford Kiwanis Club in Niagara Falls and the Kiwanis Club of Oakville in Oakville. As well, we have close ties to the Kiwanis Club of Saint Catherines. Kiwanis Advisors and executives alike care about their club’s wellbeing, and take the time to support them. This is what, in my opinion, makes us unique. We work together as a team to reach goals that we are passionate about. Together, we decide what is best for all of us, and how we can do better in our communities, and in the world.

Senior Home Letter Writing

In June of last year, our Division participated in an initiative where members wrote a thoughtful personal letter to a senior at several retirement homes in our community who were experiencing loneliness due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. With over 50 received letters from across the Division and across Canada, it was a resounding success!

Fall Rally

Last year, our division hosted our first fall rally with division 8/9/10. This fun filled day was filled with service projects, informative and useful workshops regarding time management and mindfulness and reducing your carbon footprint, guest speakers and much more!
