District Board 23-24

Executive Officers

District Governor – Manuela Dcunha

Hello, Eastern Canada! My name is Manuela Dcunha and I am so excited to be your new Governor! Key Club was the first club I joined in high school and I certainly did not imagine then that three short years later I would be in the position I am now. In my free time, I like to meticulously plan out playlists, listen to audio dramas, and read books. I look forward to continuing Key Club’s legacy of leadership, character-building, caring and inclusiveness.

District Executive Assistant – Lily Samaroo

Hello, my name is Lily Samaroo. I am excited to serve as your 2023-2024 District Executive Assistant. I am currently a grade 10 student at A.Y Jackson Secondary School (Division 5!) where I have been a member of Key Club for a year. I look forward to working my hardest in serving the board and supporting you all in any way which way possible! A fun fact about me is that I have two cats: Mango and Midnight 🙂 I can’t wait to meet you all!

District Secretary Treasurer – Ekjot Sahota

Hi everyone, my name is Ekjot Sahota and I’m honoured to be your new District Secretary-Treasurer! I am a proud part of Cameron Heights Key Club in Kitchener (Division 2/3). The Key Club community are the most welcoming and kind people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I hope to serve you all in this position with the same hard work and passion as I see you put into service every day! My favourite activities are painting and dance, specifically Bhangra!

District Webmaster – Ojaswi KC

Hello everyone, my name is Ojaswi KC and I am very enthusiastic about serving as your District Webmaster from 2023-2024! My home school is Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute, and I am currently a grade 11 student in the IB program. I have been involved in Key Club since my first year of high school and I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to provide students like myself the experience of working together to enrich our community. A few facts about myself are that I was born in Nepal, I enjoy dancing at multicultural events and my favourite colour is sage green 🙂

District Editor – Rexmin Vu

Hello Key Clubbers! I, Rexmin Vu, will be serving as your 2023-2024 Bulletin Editor. This is my second year on the board and I am more honoured to be back serving you to not only encourage volunteerism and key club factors, but also spreading every news about Key Club there are to you, making sure every resource can be found on our social media platforms. A bit more about me: I enjoy singing, talking walks, helping others and baking.

District Administrator – Firma French

My volunteer life began as a 14-year-old doing hair & nails for the senior ladies at the Civic Hospital, singing at daily Roman Catholic mass as a high school student, being a Girl Guide Leader (until I was married). My volunteering experiences continue in working with children needing remedial work in my children’s school, leading a children’s choir & a mixed choir of teens & seniors in church and many more.

In Kiwanis, I have been a secretary, a President, a Lieutenant Governor, a Kiwanis District Administrator for K-Kids, Builders Clubs & Key Clubs as well as a Site Coordinator for Key Leader & now I’m back with Key Club as District Administrator. It is an honour to mentor & share my experience with our Key Clubbers.

Key Club is not for the privileged but for the teenager willing to help cloth the naked, feed the hungry, mentor or befriend the mistreated, bring joy to the lonely, raise funds for those special projects that their Key Club & the Eastern Canada Board agree on.

Lastly, your Faculty & Kiwanis advisors along with your parents are always there for you, so don’t forget to call on them & thank them for helping to further develop our strong leaders of tomorrow.
